Happy Christmas Eve Eve!

Phase one, new shelves, is mostly done. Most Wonderful Father put up the brackets and such, but the store only had one shelf of the size we needed in stock. So I gotta go back next week to buy another. Still, it's enough to get some things off of my counters and make room for my mixer so yay!

Next comes cooking, but damn I'm tired. I'm going to take a nap b/c I can already tell I'm the kind of sleepy that makes it hard to focus on tiny details, which you kinda need to do when cooking stuff ;) I'm going to shoot to try to get everything done today. We'll see if I succeed.

Still torn on going to services tomorrow. I'd love to and want to but don't know if it'd be too much emotionally. Part of me is tempted to wait until the new year for a clean start and a guaranteed no chance of having to talk about loss at a time that's meant to be a meditation on joy. Another part's basically saying - it's Xmas. You should hit a service because that's part of it too.

We'll see. This may be a last-minute decision made tomorrow.

Whaddya want? It's my first paid vacation ever. Yay paid vacations! I just got paid money to take a nap. Now I will be paid money to eat lunch and watch TV while I wake up enough to start making Xmas yummies. Later I will be paid money to possibly write gay porn, depending on how things go at good ol' Wes Visions ;)

Memo to me

Stop eating the candy almonds! Stop it! Right now! Go wrap gifts! You heard me, young lady!

Candy almonds: Done
Chocolate Truffles: Stage 1 of 5 done. Now on stage 2, which is 3 hours of fridge time.
Pound cake: Ingredients are getting to room temperature
Cookies: May or may not be done today, depending on how I feel. The plan is to do it tomorrow but may bump it up to today depending on how much the chocolate and cake bites me on the butt.

In the meanwhile, I'm going to be a good girl and start wrapping pressies.

Rubbing it in

Done so far:

1/2 presents wrapped. (Only ones unwrapped are for the big family get-together on Sunday. Also? Running out of paper? Kinda hinders the process.)

Pound cake is mixed and in the oven

Truffles are almost done with phase 2. Now to clean up after the cake and make dinner.
