Never goes how you expect

Class I was supposed to teach got cancelled, so here's me doing more work on the Big Project (um - yeah, that's the ticket, not checking up on my LJ entries at all).

Saw a few people on my friends list talking about the Petition to Rename the Two Towers. Checked it out on Snopes and looks like it was done by a slashdot troll just to see how many people he could rile up. Some of the signatures are funny though. Sparing you the long story, we sent a free sample of a new product of ours to, well, a lot of people 'cause advertising and this one woman calls up today and bitches out my ImmediateBoss like it was a scam or something. Wow, issues much? It's free, have it or don't have it. Now let's all breathe and try to keep our voices down (tm Clem - according to someone).

In other news I've got a new Epiphany story in the works. Started it the other day when I was home sick. Didn't get a chance to finish it but maybe I'll try to do that later today. As a sneak preivew I can tell you it's a direct followup to "On Their Own".

Speaking of which, has anyone checked out the new layout for my Buffyfic page? Lemme know if the tables work for you. I was trying to make it clear where the major story arcs of Epiphany were for those people who don't want to read things until they're finished. I figure that way they can at least read the finished arcs and ignore the arcs in progress. Or something.

Just to make my life easier (because it's all about me) I'm putting this as its own entry.

Yep, TBQ is joining a bandwagon. I'll do the "Truth or Dare" thing. Like everyone else, I'm just curious to know what people would ask me. My only qualifier is that I won't name names. I don't mind telling the truth about myself, but it's not my place to talk about other people.

Ack!

Okay people, help me out. Tell me not to go to Bed, Bath & Beyond. Remind me that I can't afford it. Remind me that anything I buy I'm just going to have to pack and unpack in the new place. Something - anything! Eep!

A confession

Okay, I have to admit it...

I don't get the new GAP ads. You know the ones, with Orlando and Christina Ricci and what's his face from that Fox show that I don't watch? I don't get them. Why is watching Christina and Dennis Hopper play chess and hold glasses supposed to make me buy those shirts or pants? Why am I supposed to buy jeans because a crowd of people chased after Orlando while he was wearing them? I guess the bike ad sorta kinda could work because it could tell me that I could wear those clothes while having fun but... 'kay.

Plus these all had famous directors. Why? They're fast spots that don't have any in-depth emotions. And why do we have these known actors and known directors for spots that don't really do anything?

Managed to resist

Thanks to my mom I managed to resist the siren song of BB&B. Basically she's got the kind of rolling pin I like and she doesn't use it much so she said she'd swap her pin for mine. Doesn't sound like much, but it's enough to let me try new recipies this weekend so it's all of the good. Tomorrow I'll try making chocolate tarts.

Did another try on mac and cheese from scratch. I'm thinking there's too much onion in this version. Also not sure if it doesn't taste better after it's been in the fridge a day. Find out tomorrow I guess.

Catching up on email and such. May try finishing the Epiphany story, may try answering some LJ posts. We'll see. =)
