ARGH!!
Could that SUCK more? This is the first Buffy in possibly ever that sucked so hard I didn't mind people distracting me during it, and I include DoubleMeat Palace in that statement.
Kennedy is the Kim of Buffy. She comes on the scene and I immediately start chanting "Don't care don't care don't care"
And did Marti plan this? (I know she didn't write it) Because I can't think of anyone on the ME team who thinks that the perfect metaphor for Warren grabbing a gun and running into the yard to shoot the dyke Willow is with is... Warren... grabbing a gun... and running into... GAH!! Metaphor! Thing! CANNOT MEET!
Loved all the Colin Sense too - Riley knows that Buffy's going to show up at the Initiative headquarters? Oh yeah, that makes sense.
And I can't get enough of ME insulting the pagans in the crowd except, oh, wait, I can.
Spike falling down? Either angstful or funny. Pick a team and go with it. Stop trying for both.
Kennedy? Huge Mary Sue and have I mentioned the don't care?
And, finally, I am willing to wait until the end of the season for an explanation for why Giles didn't touch anything until now because I, perhaps stupidly, remain confident that there is an explanation for this but:
IF YOU WANT TO BUILD SUSPENSE ABOUT GILES NOT TOUCHING THINGS DON'T HAVE HIM SIT ON THE GOD-DAMNED COFFEE TABLE DURING THE TAG SCENE
