Anyhoo - it's freaking cold out here! We keep cranking up the heat but it's not doing any good. I've told the doc we're just going to have to set fire to the old patient records. It's the only way.
Those of you playing the TBQ stalking game will be happy to know my free time is now being taken up by multiple addictions.
wes_visions_rpg as always, plotting the final touches for the next Epiphany story, and a new story with
wolfling that will be so schmoopy when we're done with it that nobody will be allowed to read it who is not A) wearing fuzzy slippers B) eating directly out of a pint of Ben & Jerry's C) PMSing or D) All of the above. 'cause you know curtain fic? This will be worse.
But with, you know, moments of angst because seriously y'all have met me before.
[calm blue ocean calm blue ocean kittens with tiny hats]
Ahem. Coping fine, really I am. [TWITCH]
Finally the fandom wank thing really has me laughing. Granted there's been nothing from the mod yet to explain the cancellation but the fact that the community had become 10% pointing and laughing at fandom and 90% pointing and laughing at specific people within it I'm not going to be surprised to find out it got it's butt kicked by violating the LJ TOS which say you can't make journals for the sole purpose of putting others down. (Is that free speech? No. Do you personally own LJ? No. You knew the rules when you signed up here. Cope.)
The last kerfuffle with it was really interesting from a group psychology point of view. I swear that feedback thread was like watching a lynch mob form, but with documentation. It was amazing to see how many people posted who were ready to hang Te in effigy who didn't even know her or had even bothered to read her journal. And of course the fact that any attempts to get FWers to try to tone it down were only met with variations on the theme of "We're wankers! We don't have to! Wank Wank Wank!" which is all well and good except now you're providing an excuse for your mob mentality. Way to validate that, guys. Woo hoo.
It's a shame that we can't have a forum more like TWOP. Not that every recap there is sheer genius, but at least the general community there manages to keep the snark aimed at the right targets.
