All in all I like the set. Obviously in an ideal world some of the pictures would be clearer, but in an ideal world Angel the series would be lit using something more powerful than a single birthday candle.
FWIW my goals with the set were to make it a true Angel/Wes set - that is to say every single picture had to feature the both of them prominently. Goal two was that I would do a picture for every mood (all 130 of them) and Goal three was that each picture would be unique. Yes, some of the pictures are screencaps taking within a few moments of each other (such as the multiple shots in the hospital, or the multiple shots on the boat) but they are, still, unique shots all to themselves.
This now proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am totally insane. But there we are.
Matching the caps up to moods proved interesting, esp with regards to the more upbeat emotions since God knows you don't get perky on this show often, and the rare times you do are quickly used up. So I will agree that perhaps not every shot is the platonic ideal of each emotion but at least it comes close.
When doing the matching I got the feeling that this is something like what vidders have to do - ie understand the mood of something regardless of context. There were plenty of pictures that could have worked if you knew the context of the scene, but if you didn't they made no sense at all. So I had to ignore what was really happening and just take each shot one by one, hence why many shots ended up matched with emotions that would not be used to describe the scenes themselves.
This also factored in greatly with those shots where the facial expressions, thanks to the now much smaller picture size, were no longer readily apparent. So occasionally I picked pictures based on how the picture felt due to color, posture and tone, rather than whatever Angel and Wes were doing in it at the time.
Still, for all that I'd wish for some of the shots to be a little cleaner, I'm pleased. There are quite a few pics that I really like for the moods that they're matched with, and "bouncy" and "naughty" in particular amuse me b/c I think it takes a second for you to figure out why I picked them ;)
So that's that. Hope you enjoy. Hope I never have to do it again in a million years. Once was enough! ;)
