Great weekend
Dec. 22nd, 2002 11:03 pmFinished most of my shopping. Just need to get gifts for some friends now but I won't see them until New Year's so I'll catch them on the 26th. But my family is taken care of so - woo!
Weirdest thing happened tonight when I came home. This sweet little cat was outside of my door, which first freaked me the Hell out b/c it looked a smidge like Mac and I was wondering how he got outside. But closer inspection proved it was just a sweet kitty that one of the neighbors owns and lets wander around, because my neighbors are apparently assholes who don't understand that much as we enjoy being indoors during the cold winter, so do animals if they have half a brain.
Anyhoo, I was dumping off a lot of stuff from my shopping trip and turned my back on my open back door for a second and woosh! Suddenly I'm the proud owner of two cats. Fortunately they didn't get into a fight or anything and I was able to quickly dash in, grab the second kitty and haul him/her outside again and close the door. I then sat and chatted with him/her and gave him/her some pets and explained that while I appreciated the sentiment I'm a one-cat woman at the moment. We parted on good terms. But still - not the sort of event I was expecting. Mac was mildly curious about the whole thing since not like he was expecting a new roommate either but fortunatley he didn't feel a need to respond by marking his territory or anything.
Msc things to do:
Wrap gifts
Help dad put up new shelves
Cooking to do:
candy almonds
pound cake
Xmas wreath cookies
chocolate truffles
and... damn. Forgotten the other one. Or I'm still thinking of the chocolate tarts which I decided not to make. Oh well, it'll come to me. Hopefully.
