thebratqueenAs always, the word for TBQ is "busy". But it's a good kind of busy or so I keep telling myself ;)
My brother and his family are coming up on Saturday to do a late Thanksgiving dinner, which my mom is cooking. Because of that, I'll be doing dinner on the actual Thanksgiving for me, my mom, my dad and my aunt. Since we're doing turkey on Sat I'm doing the anti-poultry meal of beef filets wrapped in bacon.
I'm actually excited for this because back when I moved out on my own going on - huh - more than two years ago now I actually wanted to do little get-togethers like this but with one thing and another it was always easier to let my mom do it. So I'm glad for the chance to be Suzy Homemaker now.
Of course the flip side is that I have to clean my apt tonight. D'oh!!
Friday and Sat I'm going to be popular as well. I need to put in a few hours at work each day (stupid boss changing his mind at the last minute - grr) and then on Friday I'm visiting my grandmother in the afternoon and having dinner with my parents that night. Then Saturday is work and then time with my bro and his family.
Sigh. In theory there was going to be a day in there that I had to myself for writing. Now it looks like I'll have to try to cram some in on Sunday between services and getting to everything that I didn't get a chance to get to on what were supposed to be days off.
Don't get me wrong - love my family, and I'm glad to have all this time. I just wish this could be spaced out a little better. Then again maybe I'm just having Thanksgiving anxiety ;)
Stupid boss thinking anybody would need to be in the office this weekend to make appointments. Grrr.
