Fanfic musings

thebratqueenI've been pondering various things in fanfic I've never written. Wes/Cordy, for instance. I'm not a huge supporter of the pairing, but neither am I against it. And, frankly, I think there's lots of juicy stuff there for someone to play with if they were going to. Who knows? Maybe one day I'll try it just to see what it's like.

mpoetess? She's mostly Xander/Spike, I'm mostly Wes/Angel. Usually never the twain shall meet, except for now when at some point I'm certain my Angel will meet up with her Xander and wacky hijinks will ensue. It's like a fanfic crossover. ;)
(Ditto for all the other players of the game - y'all know that so much of it is me sitting here going "Yay! I get to write with _______!", right?)
Ponderings of this nature lead me to another thing I've never done - fanfic cliches.
Lemme qualify that - I'm not saying I've never written things which were fanon, or that there weren't cliches in my stuff. Far from it. But what I'm talking about here are those classic cliches. You know the ones - "Characters 1 and 2 are trapped in a cave" "So-and-so gets amnesia" "Character blahdiblah once worked as a rent boy." and so forth.
I've got nothing against them. In fact I've seen many an author do amazing work with them (Anna S, Speranza and Helen in Hell come to mind, for example). It's just that my plot bunnies bounce elsewhere, so I've never tried them out.
Which leads me to my question - not that I'm making promises here, but have y'all ever wanted me to try doing a fanfic cliche story? And, if so, which one? (Bearing in mind that it'd have to be Angelverse characters) And it doesn't have to be the 3 I listed above, there's dozens of cliches out there, I was just putting down the first three that came to mind.
Lemme know. Who knows? You may earn yourself a plot bunny. =)
