ZOMG snow!
Feb. 12th, 2006 06:07 pmJust as a child's first words in Arizona are "But it's a dry heat." the slogan of the day was "At least it's powdery."
Two feet of snow, on average. More if, like me, your car had been buried in a snow drift. Simply getting to my car required walking through snow so high that a pair of fuck-me snow boots would've actually been of use, since I was in up to my hips and I'm five foot nine.
I dug out my car, I dug out my dad's car. I left my mom's car to melt since with Dad retired I figure they can do with one car for right now. Plus, as my neighbor sang, "You gotta know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em." So apparently not only have we been hit by snow today, but Sweet as well. I'll keep my eyes out for the tap dancing.
The cars themselves are as clear as they're getting. This is a somewhat moot point travel-wise given that the driveway has only been plowed once and all the spare snow from digging out cars has gotta go somewhere.
On the upside, work doesn't start until 1pm tomorrow so if I do have to get up early to dig my car out some more that'd be the way you'd want to do it. On the downside, this decreases the odds of having a snow day tomorrow since there's plenty of time to dig out the car.
Still, it's white and pretty and now I'm back inside where I'm all warm and my back hurts.
That last one isn't a positive, but I was in a sharing mood.
