Mac had his second post-homecoming checkup yesterday. His first checkup, which was last week, wasn't so great because he'd lost weight and wasn't eating very much. This week was much better. I've been - force feeding sounds so violent. Assisting him with feeding? Hand feeding? Point being I supplemented what he was eating on his own with food I gave him while he was in my lap wrapped up like a kitty burrito, and he's grown in strength and his fur is all shiny and he gained a pound! YAY! \o/
Word from the vet is to stay the course and bring him back in a month, assuming nothing goes wrong. (Which I'm not assuming, but even so it's nice to have a guideline.)
If he gets good enough about eating I'll start letting him out of the bedroom so he can hang with Luna. I suspect no matter what he's going to want to keep having me all to himself at night. Admittedly it's hard to say no to an adorable furry creature who sighs with contented pleasure at the sheer joy of of being near you. And the joy of using your arm as a pillow.
Fingers crossed, further updates when I have them, mega thanks to everyone who's been sending good thoughts in our direction.
