FREEDOM!!!
Jun. 29th, 2007 07:58 pmI made it! I'm free! TBQ IS FREE!!!!!!!!!!!11
My final day consisted of non-stop reminders from all ends about why I wanted to leave this job. The boss was surprisingly nice though. He took me out to lunch and gave me a wallet as a going away present.
Thank you to all for the pretty nekkid icons :D And to
bethcarielle for the lolly.
I have to admit it hasn't really sunk in yet. I suspect this is going to be something that hits me in stages. Like stage 1 will be when I show up at the new job Monday. Stages 2-infinity will be when I realize all the little ways my life is better now that I'm not carrying this stress around with me. (I believe all of you who've been listening to my work saga over the past year or so call this the "No DUH, TBQ" stage)
To answer a common question he finally hired someone today. Though this is due to what he in his own words termed "panic." Possibly because it finally sunk in for him that no, really, I'm not going to be there next week.
I never met the person he hired and there was no training period. At least, not on my part. He'll have to handle that all by himself. And since new person has to give two weeks notice that means he's got two whole weeks of flying solo. Next week he's only working Monday. The week after that he's currently scheduled to be working the usual five days but who knows how that will turn out.
Not me! I'll be elsewhere!
