Hey, actual seasonal stuff
Nov. 19th, 2006 07:08 pmToday I went out for what's becoming a Thanksgiving tradition, where the leader of my bellydance group and I go to a local Indian restaurant for brunch while my town has its Thanksgiving parade. The restaurant is right on the parade route, so if you get a seat by the window you can watch the balloons and listen to the bands (not see them, but you can still hear them and it's an acceptable sacrifice for yummy food and not standing for hours).
The parade crowd was bigger this year and it appeared as though others had figured out the secret of using the restaurant as a base. Luckily there's an upstairs that filled up quickly because it has an even better view, but next year I think we'll need to make reservations.
After the parade I went over to my folks' to say hi to my brother and his two daughters, the three of whom had come over to watch the parade with my dad. We sat and chatted and I got to show off the new tattoo to ooohs and aaaahs.
I didn't think I ate so much at the restaurant but here it is hours later and the thought of eating anything at all has my body going "Are you kidding?"
Great food though, so totally worth it.
