I am being very serious!

In cooking news I am happy to report that the faux buttermilk (3/4 cup milk, 2 tsp vinegar per![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-syndicated.gif)
obsessedmuch's suggestion) worked perfectly for my cornmeal biscuits. The biscuits themselves also turned out fabulous. I shall definitely be making those again, though perhaps next time I'll take ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
versailles_rose's suggestion and simply keep powdered buttermilk in the house. It would certainly make sense given the random amounts of buttermilk I tend to use, and the uneven schedule of feast and famine I tend to use it in. Now I just need to find powdered buttermilk.
Brunch was rounded out by a spinach and cheddar cheese quiche and a nice cuppa. Because I am apparently addicted to tea (er, DAMMIT!) even when the weather gets hot enough that I need to turn the AC back on.
My plants are growing like gangbusters and so far have shown no ill effects from being in a different location while my porch was worked on. Except the basil. I'm not 100% certain the basil didn't get messed up by the too-wet weather. I've pinched the plants back to within an inch of their little lives in the hopes of getting rid of all the unhappy leaves. Hopefully they'll bounce back. I've never had a problem growing basil before. Usually it's having too much basil that's the problem. Good thing for pesto 8) I have also learned that my pepper plant smells like peppers. I find that makes it a very good companion for the tomato plant.
I also did regular weekly housecleaning this morning and another round of deep cleaning, this time attacking the kitchen under the "when it doubt, throw it out" principle. On the docket for the rest of today is exercise, shower, dinner, and writing. (Sidenote to the two people who know what I'm working on today: given the delay on Friday I suspect I won't be done by tonight, but I'll get as much done as I can.)
And I think that about covers it from my neck of the woods. Except to say that yes, in my head Angel and Wes are still dealing with a newborn. ;)
