First off, happy belated birthday to [livejournal.com profile] taffimai =)

Currently I am sitting at home, surrounded by cats who are clingy for no reason that I can tell (it's seriously an ongoing process of one of them jumping into my lap until they have their fill, jumping off, then the other one jumps up. Lather, rinse, repeat. Though I suppose I should at least be happy that they're taking turns.)

In the meanwhile I am bored because I am waiting for the plumber, who said he would be here "sometime after 1." At the time of me booking the appointment the vagueness did not bother me as I expected to be doing nothing except hanging out at home and catching up on things. However now I have things outside of the house that I want to do and can't until he gets here. I likewise am loath to start any of the at-home projects that I wanted to do because said projects involve my full attention, and since he could get here at at any second and since I'll be leaving as soon as he's done, it's not really worth it to start something I'll just have to re-start (from the beginning) all over again.

Grumble grumble.

Grrr

Plumber? Still not here. We're going on two hours late now. Calling the office was no help as I get an answering machine at the regular number and an answering service at the emergency number.

I just want an ETA! I don't care if they show up at 9pm tonight, just tell me!

Hell, I could've gone on my errands and been back by now.

And the annoying thing is that leaving and telling them to go screw isn't an option, because then I just screw myself up b/c I have to deal with the broken plumbing for a few more weeks until I have another weekday off to book an appointment.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.

Sigh

Plumber finally left. I was ready to chew the guy out when he walked through the door except once I saw him I saw he was clearly not marching to the same music the rest of us hear, so no point in ranting any more than I'd already ranted at him on the phone. (Him: "I said after 1pm Friday." Me: "Yeah, but when you did I assumed sometime in the neighborhood of 1pm, not a situtation where you could've showed up at 3pm Saturday and still consider yourself to have arrived on time!")

Good news: shower is fixed. Bad news: my plans for today were totally fucked because I wanted to to go stores that closed 20 min ago. Could've gone to them if I'd known I'd be waiting this long, but can't do it now.

Which is just as well since the bill for all this turned out to be three times what I was expecting. On the plus side, wanting to be sure I could afford to go shopping is part of why I wanted to get the plumber overwith in the first place. On the down side, I was looking forward to it.

So now I'm poor, grumpy, and depressed.

Phooey.

Cats: still clingy. This makes me suspect that they know something that I don't. Like I'm going to be hit by a car tomorrow and they're really hoping I've updated my will.

Mood: Somewhat better. Did you know that when you haven't eaten in a while it's apt to make you impatient and cranky? Yeah, me neither.

On the plus side, Kita's going to give me chocolate and porn =)
