grump grump grump
Mar. 1st, 2005 02:33 pmI am in a grumpy mood. I was berefit and abandoned for lunch, for I am unloved, UNLOVED I tell you! Plus my boss is in one of those moods where he thinks telling me to do stuff that I'm already in the middle of doing because I am actually pro-active in that fashion is a good way to improve my morale. (It's not so much the being told what to do by the guy who pays me thing that's a problem it's the not being recognized for the fact that not only do I do what he wants but I do my best to anticipate the need so he won't ask. One of these days I'm going to point out that his method of handling this is effectively killing my desire to ever do anything without being told.)
Still, it was a late morning thanks to the snow, and the roads are now clear though the trees are not. 'tis pretty in it's way.
I have also discovered that it's possible that the problem with my vacuum cleaner is that it's missing a part. My mom has a similar model to mine and when I took hers apart I noticed that there was a metal piece put in just the place a metal piece would be needed in order to keep the fan belt from slipping. My vacuum has no such piece, and I've oft wondered how the hell the belt was supposed to stay on what basically amounted to a metal rod with nothing on the end of it.
OTOH, I also have no idea why the vacuum previously was able to go for at least a little while before losing the belt, whereas now it only makes it about two feet.
But it's a start to solving the mystery. And at least now I can call up repair places and get a more specific estimate on fixing it. If it's still too expensive, then I'll get a new vacuum.
... the radio is playing the Cheers theme. Not that I mind as such but when did it suddenly become the 80s again?
