May day! In, uh, more than one sense of the words, I guess

Today is May 1st, which is Beltaine to some people. To others it's May Day and to still others it's "Crap, how many days until Mother's Day again?" (hint: it's next Sunday. At least if you live in the US.) Whatever it is to you I wish you a happy one.

I intend to spend the day writing and making homemade pasta. I haven't done that second one before, so I'll be interested to see how that turns out. I suppose I could go for easy and just stop at the actual pasta part, but I've decided to add a degree of difficulty by making ravioli. This will either be really good or result in a mess. But either way I intend to have fun.

Finally, I want to find each and every one of you who knew about Ben & Jerry's Half Baked ice cream and spank you for not telling me about it. Chocolate Fudge Brownie mixed with Cookie Dough. There is no wrong to be found there.

Awwww yeah.

Finally got around to watching the first part of Prime Suspect 6 (thank you, Tivo!).

Awww yeah. That's the stuff.

I'll be putting that DVD on my wish list.

And now to make pasta dough.

Yum! And ooo!

Ravioli was made. It was very yummy, though time consuming. Granted part of that was taken up by me taking the time to run a practice batch of pasta through the machine to both season it and to get a feel for how it worked. In future it shouldn't be nearly as long.

The raviolis were made up of parmesan, procuitto, sundried tomatoes, fresh basil and mozzerella. Very nummy! I had a spinach salad with balsamic vinagrette on the side, and a serving of Half Baked for dessert. Good times, good times.

In other news, lerefuge has once again brought out her mad collaging skillz and created this collage for Protocol. Verily I am in love with it, and verily you should go look at it and declare your love over in her journal.
