Things I have observed this past week
Nov. 12th, 2003 08:22 am1) s4 Angel rocks so hard I can't even describe it
2) Rewatching the Jasmine arc is a really good way to wake up bunnies in my head which insist that no, really, I could write a "Strategy Redux" which starts off with Wes and Lorne already in the hotel but veers off from that and hits all the other fic kinks that somehow managed not to be touched on in that story.
3) Anyone who still thinks David doesn't have some acting talent these days needs to rewatch Magic Bullet and Home 'cause dude.
4) Fred/Willow = OTP. Seriously.
5) No matter how good an actress Amy Acker becomes she will never develop the kind of onscreen presence which is required of a leading actress (or, arguably, she will not develop it quickly enough), and that's part of what's missing from s5. Sadly the actress who played Lacey had more oomph to her. If they couldn't get Alexa and they couldn't get Stephanie, it makes me wonder why they couldn't get her. Because Sarah? Doesn't have that kind of onscreen presence either.
6) The demon that Fred meets in Magic Bullet who calls himself "An executive demon." has to be an Eddie Izzard shout-out of some sort. Possibly I'm just the last person in the world to realize this.
7) Speaking of belated realizations, I'm not saying Lorne is gay, I'm just saying that his background color in the credits is pink and the picture that they use is the alchemical symbol for fire. Draw your own conclusions.
8) Last but not least (as I have to scoot off to work) why is it that people who say things like "I think slash is absolutely disgusting and can't imagine how on earth people read that universally badly-written, out of character crap?" then wonder why slash fans react badly to what they said? Was "I just don't like it because it's not my personal fic preference" too hard to write?
Off to work! =)
