Whoa - it's warm. It does that?
Feb. 3rd, 2003 02:47 pmIt's actually warm and sunny outside. Weird. /me looks at it suspiciously.
Thanks to all who sent good wishes for sick old me yesterday. I'm doing somewhat better today, though still not up for more than basic activities like, say, sitting in front of a computer. But fortunately I get paid to do that so - woo! Go me!
In other news, can I just say that I don't get this new meme going around of "Say something you want to say to me anonymously"? And I know a few of my friends have done this (hence I know about it in the first place) and I still don't get it. Because okay, A) first off this strikes me as a passive-agressive way to ask for compliments or critiques and B) it assumes people are going around saying stuff about you that for one reason they don't normally want to say to your face, and if that's the case don't we maybe have a bigger problem to address here?
I don't say anything about anybody that I wouldn't say to them personally. If I like you, I tell you. If I think you're a fuckwad you get that little memo too. I believe in things like "the internet" and "my ability to move my mouth and vocal cords while breathing in such a way as to make specific sounds" to do things like "communicate" in which I can "tell you what I'm thinking" because if I didn't then I might as well "sit in a closet" and "stare at the walls" because why else am I "dealing with other human beings"?
And, frankly, I expect the same courtesy in return. Y'all shouldn't and don't need permission from me to speak freely because I'm the Brat Queen, not the Brat Major General and this isn't the military. If I didn't want to hear from people good or bad, known to me or unknown to me I wouldn't be posting in an area where other people can see me and supplying my email address (thebratqueen at livejournal dot com for those of you playing the home game) or those little "post a comment links" at the end of every message. You wanna say something to me you can go nuts and yap your little hearts out. I wanna say something to you I'll do so in return.
Why the hell else are we here?
