Bleh

Tired. Wacky weather is giving me a headache.

On the plus side I have the day off. On the downside I'm torn on the computer issue. I really need to switch it out for the new one and today would be an ideal day to do it, but I'm headachy and therefore skittish about having enough brainpower to handle the various glitches that will undoubtedly come up as I reinstall keyboard, scanner, mouse, printer, CD burner, PDA hookup, etc. etc. etc.

I also sort of kind of want to try writing some fic. And hey - day off and I'm going to the gym, so ideal day to get those fic juices going. But OTOH do I want to do that on this computer? Hate to be mid-story when the HD finally gives up the ghost.

Bleh. Can't I just magic the new computer into place?

Okay - God help me but I'm going to try switching out computers. So that would be why I'm going to be quiet email and RPG-wise over the next hour or so. Here's hoping I don't screw it up too badly. [fingers crossed]

Okay - first step, completed. Got the new computer in and I'm connected (obviously). Now that I know the modem works I'll get started on the rest. I've decided to hold off on installing the scanner et al. for a later date. I figure keyboard, mouse and maybe printer is more than enough for right now. I hope ;)

Okay, okay, I cautiously say that I am up and running. We'll see if I end up jinxing it.

Question for those more in the know than I - On Windows 2000, in the quicklaunch toolbar? How can I put a button in that automatically takes me to my desktop/minimizes all windows? Apparently whoever had this computer before me took that button off and I don't know how to put it back.
