thebratqueen: Captain Marvel (Mmm... Angel)
Okay, first off - my PDA is beepin'. I'm currently writing this on the train home from [livejournal.com profile] miss_edith's. How much does that rock? Of course I can't post this until my lunch break which, as of me writing this, is about 12 hours from now but can't have everything, can you?

Buffy premiere rocked. I can't imagine what I would say to add to it. Watch the show. I agree with it all. I'm happy to be confirmed in my Polly lifestyle for season 7. Now all we have to do is get Angel back on track now that David "Lost my fuckng mind" Greenwalt is out of the picture and - woo hoo!

Speaking of Angel, [livejournal.com profile] stakebait got me a pack of Angel season 3 cards. Guess what was the first card out of the pack? Wes getting his throat cut. Purrrrr.

I did not pick up the OMWF soundtrack. i didn't have time. I think I'll get it for the trip to LA though.

More to say but will put it in another post.

Thanks to those who responded to my feedback question from before .

Good point to those who said that somebody can like stories of different genres or types. And that does apply to some of the comments. Although when some of the feedback I got was "Wow, that was such a great characterization of __________" and this other, crappy story had the worst characterization of ___________ that I've ever seen and got the same compliment - I've gotta say it devalues the feedback to me.

Don't get me wrong - I love feedback in all its forms. I'm not saying I'd rather these people never wrote to me in the first place. I'm talking about the next step of feedback, which is "How much of this should I take to heart?"

For example, if somebody slammed my characterization of Angel and was anti-slash, I'd know not to take the slam to heart because they're predisposed to not like a story that hooks Angel up with a guy.

Likewise, if somebody tells me that I do a good job with characterization of Angel, and then compliments somebody else for a good characterization of Angel in a story which isn't AU but writes Angel as Jewish, female and really good at singing - that's gonna leave an impression with me.

All the more reason to get some good beta readers and trust their feedback, I suppose. And hey - thanks to [livejournal.com profile] wolfling's and [livejournal.com profile] stakebait's schedules I was able to test run two new ones. Woohoo! Nothing like a new pair of slaves!

Final thought before I go back to work:

I had an epiphany re: the next Epiphany story. Woohoo! Might get a new one posted next week (not to jinx it)

Okay, so MemoPad, which comes with my PDA, will preserve paragraph breaks but will only take about 3 pages of text at a time.

FreeWrite, which claims to take up to 25 pages, does not preserve paragraph breaks.

That's a smidge annoying.
