Housecleaning

Whenever I have my moments of really feeling a need to clear out the clutter in my house - or at least make a tiny dent in it - I am continually amazed to discover the things that I don't throw away. Particularly when they're left right out in the open. I had the old hardware from my sliding closet doors sitting right on my bookshelf. I have no idea why I thought to keep that. In fact I'm pretty sure I didn't think to keep that, and probably just put it there for a second while replacing it with new hardware, and then it immediately faded into the background never to be noticed again.

Just think what other randomness I might find.

Not today, though, as my current yen to clean the house from top to bottom has run smack into 1) Headache 2) leftover backache from shoveling and 3) a vacuum cleaner that cheerfully threw off its fan belt about every two feet, forcing me to stop, unplug it, open it up, slip the fan belt on, close it up again, plug it back in, vacuum two feet, lose the fan belt, and start all over from the beginning. I had to do it, too, because beige carpet and black cats do not make a pretty housecleaning combination. But now I've got "buy new fan belt" on my to do list, so it's good to know I've things to keep me busy.

So I could clean more, but the vacuum broke my spirit and besides I got all the weekly cleaning done before that anyway. Now I get to spend the rest of the day on the computer, taking care of various stuff I am behind on. Let's see how far I get! Woo! Go team! (or me, go me!)
